The mobile team conducted a design session with two food vendors to explore different opportunities for a new cart prototype. Using a wheelbarrow as the starting point, the two vendors explained to Melat and Nicholas the important aspects that any cart should have.

Some highlights include:

Top display table (most important). //  Must be at least 90x90cm

Maneuverability // Single wheel like a wheelbarrow is preferred over two wheel carts to allow for easier maneuverability through the streets.

Balance + Strength of structure // Vendors can carry up to 80kg of produce at the beginning of their day.

Storage // currently carts do not have any storage. All effort is put in making a strong and low-cost cart that all vendors can afford. If possible, adding storage for waste and/or unripe produce would

be beneficial.
